Twitter

My resume has been posted below.

I worked on my social media accounts to get a feel for the art community. I posted to my Instagram and twitter and hope to gain more followers as my art improves. I have yet to stream on twitch because I am not sure how to go about it.

Throughout this week I have been working on the character concepts for my first story. I took the cat getting lost story and flipped the script. The story is now about a friendly dinosaur helping a baby bird back to its nest. The T-rex and the baby bird will go through the stages of development as I flush out their designs.

I have also been practicing my 3D animation since I have two projects due to other classes.

441- Character Animation

Project: Monologue

Notes: Thumbnails need revision

Professor Pozzi suggests I pose the model more closely to my reference and exaggerate more.

445- Advanced Animation Production

I am working in a group to animate a scene based on an audio source we chose.

Audio: Over the Garden Wall, Episode 2

Project: Animate a scene with multiple characters in an environment

Assignment: Rough First Pass Animation

Weekly Blog Post 2

This week I focused on creating an artist profile so I would be able to have social media sites strictly for art posts. I started with twitch so I could learn how streaming can connect me to other artists and the creative community.

I watched a lot of tutorial videos that helped me prepare for the streaming side of the internet. I wanted to create a platform for myself as an artist and have been meaning to do so for a long time. I want to be able to post my work consistently and be able to quickly reference my profile to potential companies that are hiring.

How to Go Live!

How To Stream Your Art

I have made a twitch, twitter, and Instagram. I will link to this blogsite once they have profiles and at least one post. I want to stick with twitch right now so I can focus on setting a time to actually draw and get instant feedback from anyone who pops into the stream. I can post the product of my work onto the other sites afterward.

While setting up my accounts, I thought of some story ideas for an animatic. I have two that I could flesh out a bit more or keep thinking of more ideas.

My first idea put simply is about a lost kitty that finds his way back home with the help of a bird.

My second idea is about a succulent plant that gets teased by other floral plants for its spiky and plain leaves. However, the shoe is on the other foot once the flowers begin to wither and the succulent blooms in the fall or winter.

Weekly Blog Post 1

9/10/2020

This week I researched ideas for my senior portfolio, worked on the "Who am I?" summary for my resume, and sought out companies I would like to apply for.

My ideas for my demo reel include 3D and 2D animation, traditional art, figure drawings, storyboards, and character designs. I mostly want to focus on the pre-production process. I want to create multiple storyboards. Starting with the script and character concept, then storyboards, leading into animatics, and wash and repeat. I took inspiration from Erin Humiston and The Fisherman animatic.

I have taken inspiration from the 2016 demo reel of Alvise Zennaro.

I want the introduction of my demo reel to engage the viewer right from the beginning by incorporating animation into my name or leading to it.The last few months will be 3D animation of body mechanics and lip-syncing.

My dream is to be a part of an animation team that creates a film that inspires the world. Not many have achieved this so I know it's a long shot. I want to use this medium to reach out to families and the next generation to motivate them to make a change in the world. Letting them know that kindness, no matter how small, can make a difference.

The companies I would like to apply for are:

Japan

  1. A-1 Pictures

Canada

  1. Animal Logic
  2. Atomic Cartoons
  3. Creamy Animation
  4. MPC
  5. Bardel
  6. Sony Pictures Imageworks
  7. Rainmaker
  8. Titmouse

USA

CA

  1. Doodad
  2. DreamWorks
  3. Pixar
  4. Frederator
  5. LucasFilm
  6. Cartoon Network
  7. Nickelodeon
  8. Warner Bros
OR
  1. Laika
  2. Americanfox
  3. Xtrentical
  4. Pixel Fort
  5. Bent Image Lab
  6. Very True Story
  7. Meister
  8. Animation Dynamics Inc.
CT
  1. Blue Sky Studios

I hope to move to Oregon or Canada to begin my animation career, but I will go anywhere that would hire me. If I can't find a job at an animation company for film and television, I will try ones that are toward video games such as Ready at Dawn or Naughty Dog.

I know that I have a low chance of success in getting hired at a large, well-known company so I would like to start my career in Oregon or Canada and work my way into bigger and bigger projects.
